JULIA

Farmer and Nurse Practitioner

Hey, I am Julia Rogers! My husband and I co-founded Blackberry Ridge Farm in 2018. We live on the farm with our son, Ben, and try to raise him to love and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. One of my favorite things about the farm has been to create an oasis for our community to visit and enjoy. We have been hosting small and large events on the farm for the past two years, sharing our love of agriculture and nature with our farm guests.

While my passion is farming, I have a professional background in nursing. I have been a nurse for 17 years and completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2010. I currently work part-time as a Family Nurse Practitioner for Atrium Health.

We are super excited to offer Farm Camp this summer! I believe that children thrive in an environment where they can learn about nature using all of their senses, developing a relationship with the environment that will last a lifetime. Looking forward to seeing ya'll on the farm!

DANIELLE

Teacher and Chicken Farmer

Danielle bio_edited_edited.jpg

Hi, my  name is  Danielle Helfenberger and I have worked as a C.M.S. teacher for the past 19 years. I am married to my husband Aaron and we have two boys who constantly keep us on the go.  When we are not partaking in all of the extra curricular activities we enjoy spending quality time together in our own backyard. We enjoy sitting around a good campfire, gardening, riding ATVs, and raising our chickens. We absolutely love the outdoors and all of the things it has to offer. We believe that it is so important for our children to understand that there is more to life than video games and I-pads and it is essential to find a healthy balance.

In  2010 I decided to take my passion of teaching to the next level and open my own business called 'No Ordinary Summer Camp". During the summer break we offer camps at different locations like Camp Cannon, UNC, and a few other locations where we have brought workshops in to offer different camp services.

This summer we are partnering with Blackberry Ridge Farm in Huntersville N.C. and offering "Farm Camp''. We are very excited for this new adventure and hope you will join us!
